We are about to embark on another large scale project, weeding bound journals.   If at all possible we would like to recycle as much as possible.   Our University’s recycler will take the paper (without the glued spine), but not the buckram covers and spines.

Has anyone had success using a large cutter to slice off the covers and spine, in order to recycle the paper?

And if so, any recommendations?

Does anyone have any other suggestions for recycling?
