GOKb, the Global Open Knowledgebase, is an open source project that seeks to create an open data knowledgebase for libraries to use in managing holdings and access to licensed resources. GOKb, formally run by North Carolina State University, has reorganized around a new coalition of partners. GOKb was formed under the Kuali Foundation as a sister project of Kuali OLE, but now, GOKb is a community of the Open Library Foundation (OLF) along with OLE, FOLIO and VuFind.
In this session, we will introduce the new members of the project team and their background. We will inform about the current activities of the GOKb project team (matching of data against bibliographic databases, new user interface study, participation in FOLIO ERM Sub Group). And we will trace the deliverables for GOKb over the next 12 months.
Come learn about our efforts to create a community-managed data resource that is critical to a central library function for managing licensed content.
