Our library IT guy can change the proxy setting for one of our computers so that login is required to access our electronic resources. From on campus, we see
and access the same screens as our remote users. The pros: we have can verify off campus access while on campus. The cons: we have to login every time we want to access something running through EZ Proxy at that station.
I asked him to do that once for my computer when I was checking a project. My having to login as if I was a remote user did not last long. I don’t think I made
it 2 weeks. J
I have also checked from home.

I use my smart phone and WIFI from any of our concessionaires on campus (they are off the Campus network). Works just fine for quick testing.
For more in depth testing I wait until I get home.

Subject: [SERIALST] Checking off campus access of E-Resources
We are trying to figure out the best way to check off campus access of our electronic resources when we are
ON campus. We use EZ Proxy for authentication off campus. If you would share how your institution checks access when your users call with problems, or when you are performing setup or general checking of resources.
If you could also say who performs the checking when problem notices come in. Is it the electronic resources person, reference librarian on duty, help desk person … ?
Thank you for your input.
