Dear Colleagues,

The ALCST Acquisitions Section tasked its Education Committee with developing a draft document of core competencies for acquisitions professionals. The committee has worked to identify key skills and behaviors that enable successful performance of the acquisitions role in libraries.

The AS Education Committee would now like to invite input from the broader community on this draft competencies document. The committee is particularly seeking comments from professionals in non-academic settings.

The document draft, and also the page at which to leave your comments, may be found here: http://bit.ly/2HXZiPa

We encourage everyone to submit feedback by *April 1*.

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful feedback.

Sincerely,

L. Angie Ohler on behalf of the ALCTS Acquisitions Section Education Committee:
