Electronic Resources Librarian
Library of the University of California, Davis
The Library of the University of California, Davis, seeks a creative, forward-looking, collaborative, and service-oriented Electronic
Resources Librarian. The position reports to the Head of Content Support Services Department and has a leading role in the workflows that establish and maintain discovery of and access to the library’s electronic resources licensed locally and
consortially through the California Digital Library (CDL). The position has
a supporting role in ensuring the integrated discovery and access across internal and external resources, including content from adjacent systems such as the library course reserves system and digital asset management system. In addition, the position serves
as the library’s primary contact with CDL, vendors and publishers, and library personnel regarding discovery and access issues associated with the library’s licensed electronic resources. As a key member of a cross-unit electronic resources management team,
the position coordinates with various units for managing electronic resources in such functions as acquisitions, cataloging, collections development, and user services. The position is also expected to play an active role in library’s e-resource related training,
projects and initiatives.
Salary: Assistant Librarian to Associate Librarian ($49,165-$69,550) (Appointment rank and salary based on qualifications and
experience.)

system, Ex Libris’s Alma, and uses Primo as its discovery system. The Library
has been actively involved in Linked Data activities and is planning the transition of its bibliographic data and library operations from MARC to Linked Data. In addition, the Library is a PCC member and participates in CONSER, NACO and SACO programs.
The Content Support Services Department is responsible for processing all resources collected by the Library. The department is
comprised of four units: Acquisitions and Licensing, Metadata Creation, Digital and Archival Metadata, and Collection Maintenance. Currently the Department has 4 librarians and 22 paraprofessionals.
