TITLE:
Electronic Resources LibrarianPOSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Kelvin Smith
Library (KSL) of Case Western Reserve University
(CWRU) seeks a creative, collaborative individual to serve as
Electronic
Resources Librarian (ERL). As part of the Acquisitions and Metadata
Services team, the
Electronic Resources Librarian is responsible for the
content management, licensing, and discovery of all the
library’s
electronic serials and databases. The ERL manages access to the
library’s
electronic resources using the
electronic resources management
system, discovery service, ILS, link resolver, and databases A-Z list,
and works with vendors to provide consistent, user-friendly access. The
position will also collaborate with other teams at KSL, particularly the
Planning, Budgets, and Assessment and Research Services teams, to
coordinate the selection, acquisition, and evaluation of
electronic
resources.
QUALIFICATIONS: (
Required) A Master of
Library/Information Science degree or an advanced degree in a related discipline.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

LibrarianPOSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Kelvin Smith
Library (KSL) of Case Western Reserve University
(CWRU) seeks a creative, collaborative individual to serve as
Electronic
Resources Metadata
Librarian (ERML). As part of the Acquisitions and
Metadata Services team, the ERML will focus on the creation,
maintenance, and enrichment of metadata representing the
library's
electronic, digital, and virtual collections. The position will also
assist the Team Leader of Acquisitions and Metadata Services in
coordinating the cataloging and authority control of materials in all
formats, including print and digital
resources. The ERML will work
closely with colleagues on the Acquisitions and Metadata Services team
to evaluate and document policies, procedures, and workflows for
cataloging, database maintenance, and non-MARC metadata creation within
the
library. The position will also collaborate with other teams at KSL,
particularly the Digital Learning and Scholarship and Special
Collections and Archives teams, as well as with university community and
library partners, to help establish metadata policies and procedures
and support metadata initiatives. This position will serve as a
forward-thinking leader within and beyond the Acquisitions and Metadata
Services team on matters of resource description and metadata management
and will serve as the point person for coordinating metadata
initiatives at KSL.
