I’ve heard a lot of people use the justification that “publishers don’t respond to claims anyway”, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find that claims get a response a
lot of the time from EBSCO. Claiming is worthwhile for us.

No way. Journals are way too expensive and that would be bad stewardship of our money. I’ve had a lot of problems with Ebsco ordering three years but the publisher
only taking one year. They either send us three copies or they stop after a year. I’d never know if I wasn’t claiming regularly.
