Yes, we had the same issue this year. The explanation I got was that the publishers were pushing NA Publishing to confirm that we have print subscriptions for the same titles (as opposed to microfilm only). Not
sure how they (publishers) would have checked, but we did cancel a couple titles where we were only receiving microfilm.

Subject: Re: [SERIALST] print subscription required for NA Publishing microfilm?
Hi Dawn,
Our last microfilm renewal with NA Publishing broke down our titles into two different sections: Annual Renewal and Preservation Microfilming. The latter seems to be our titles that we have subscriptions
to. The pricing seemed the same to me (production costs have risen for both), so I did not look too much into it. I am not sure exactly why they are differentiating but I would ask them. As far as I know, the program is called Preservation Microfilming.
It is not very clear…
Sorry I can’t help more

Subject: [SERIALST] print subscription required for NA Publishing microfilm?
We received notification from NA Publishing that there are certain titles for which we need to have a print subscription, or otherwise have print copies of the titles in our collection (e.g. Copyright deposits), in order to be able to purchase
the microfilm from NA Publishing. I don’t have complete details yet from my supervisors, but I just wanted to put out some feelers to see if anyone else has any information about this. Thank you for any input anyone can offer.
