Hi Trisha,

We are also a small academic library.  We do not use any covers on our periodicals and have not had any problems.  The post office does more damage to our periodicals than our students!

Hope this helps.

Subject: [SERIALST] Pros and cons of periodical covers

We are interested in hearing the pros and cons of utilizing periodical covers for our academic library journals on display.

We have the 'locking' clear cover, red back version and are considering discontinuing their use.

We are a small academic library with an aging collection of covers. The monies certainly could be utilized in other places.

Thank you for any and all responses.

Trisha
