ACRL/NY 2016 Symposium Scholarships for Students & Librarians
Apply now for a scholarship to the 2016 ACRL/NY Symposium, Money and Power. This year's event, produced by the Greater New York Metropolitan Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL/NY), will feature speakers and poster sessions addressing the ways that economic, social, and political power affect the choices we all make as individuals and as members of our institutions. The full-day event will include time for discussion and networking, as well as breakfast and lunch.
When and where: Friday, December 2nd at Baruch College’s William and Anita Newman Vertical Campus Conference Center in Manhattan.
ACRL/NY offers three scholarship programs. Awardees receive a waiver of registration fees to attend the Symposium. Awardees are expected to attend the entire day and to produce a short article on their impressions of the event for the ACRL/NY blog (guidelines to be provided).
Please note that awardees will be responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
Student Scholarship – For students currently enrolled in graduate degree programs in library/information science who are considering a career in academic librarianship ( four awardees).
Early Career Librarian Scholarship – For an academic librarian with under five years of post-MLIS experience (one awardee).
The Barbara Bonous-Smit Scholarship– For an academic librarian with over five years of post-MLIS experience (one awardee).

Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before: Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
