We have no MLS folks currently doing any cataloging, including original, though we are hopeful of adding a librarian in our Tech Services area soon.
MLS Librarians are responsible for the consortial “loads” of e-resource batches in coordination w/OLIS.
I am currently cataloging most of everything in all formats (including originals) that is non-DLC (CIP) copy. DLC etc. (and all US and NYS Docs.) are cataloged by
the Library Clerk 2 who also does Docs. and Acquisitions. We both work w/S/O subsequent receipts.
When I began here 38 years ago, I learned cataloging from who I consider the three best catalogers I ever met: Selma Foster, Judy Hudson, and Marge Kirchgasser.

Subject: [SERIALST] Question(s) about original serials cataloging
Good morning.
I would like to know who is doing original serials cataloging at your library. I am particularly interested to know if non-MLS folk are doing any original serials cataloging.
Thanks,
Carol
