Subject: JSTOR introduces Open Access ebooks

Happy Open Access Week!  I’m excited to share the news of an initiative to make Open Access monographs available on the JSTOR platform.  There are currently 63 Open Access titles available from the university presses of Cornell, California, Michigan, and University College London, and we expect to add hundreds more titles from additional partners in the coming months.  The titles are available for anyone to use without registering or logging into JSTOR, and there are no DRM restrictions or chapter download limits.  Please check out more details and the title list<http://about.jstor.org/open-access>, as well as information for libraries<http://about.jstor.org/content/books-jstor-open-access-collection> on getting free MARC records from OCLC.

We hope that integrating the OA titles in researchers’ existing workflows, where they may be discovered alongside other scholarly resources, will help increase their usage and impact.  We are looking forward to analyzing the usage and sharing what we learn.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks a lot!

Best wishes,

Frank Smith

Subject: Important Migration Information about Oxford Journals

*****Apologies for any cross-posting.****

In October 2015, we announced that Oxford University Press and Silverchair Information Systems had engaged in a technology relationship to build a next-generation digital platform for OUP’s scholarly content and services. We are delighted to inform you that this new platform will be launching next month with the migration of our journals content.

The migration of our journals content to the new Oxford Academic platform will happen in two phases on 14 November and 30 November. In order to ensure a smooth transition to the new platform, we are asking our customers to review  our migration instructions. This week, we sent out an email to our customers with a Migration Information pack and an updated FAQ. Please check your inboxes to make sure you have received this or visit the Migration Information page for more information. Some customers will need to take action related to proxy access and authentication before 14 November.

If you are a subscriber and haven’t received an email from us, or have any further questions, please contact your Sales Representative or our Customer Services team. Outside the Americas, you can e-mail us at jnls.cust.serv@oup.com. Within the Americas, please e-mail us at jnlorders@oup.com.

Thank you for your patience during this migration process, and we look forward to sharing our new platform with you.
