Please join us for the ALCTS Electronic Resources Interest Group (ERIG) Meeting at ALA Annual for a presentation by Robert Heaton (Utah State University) on the Library Workflow Exchange, a group discussion about professional roles and organizational structures in electronic resources management, and the election of the next Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect of the Interest Group.
Saturday, June 25, 2016
1:00-2:30 pm
Orange County Convention Center, Room W105A
Library Workflow Exchange (
http://www.libraryworkflowexchange.org/) is a repository of curated and searchable links to policies, processes, tutorials, toolkits, and more. It builds off the library community’s tradition of openness and sharing and gives practical answers to the question, “Who else is doing something like this, and how are they doing it?” The site was created in the summer of 2015 and has quickly grown to over 130 workflows related to metadata, digitization, and cataloging and has just recently expanded to begin covering electronic-resource management. Come learn how this resource can shape your decision-making and what you can do to contribute.
Following the presentation, attendees will participate in a group discussion about professional roles and organizational structures in libraries as relevant to electronic resources management. Discussion topics will include but not be limited to: the role of electronic resources librarians and other librarians in managing electronic resources, the distribution of work between professional, support and student staff, the relationship between public and technical services and the impact of changes in library management and discovery systems.
We will hold the election of the next Vice-Chair/Chair Elect after our discussion. The candidates are:
Lori Duggan
Lori is the Head of Electronic Resources Acquisitions at Indiana University. She received her MLS at Indiana University and has been with the IU Libraries for nearly 15 years. She currently serves on the ALCTS Leadership Development Committee, and was appointed to the ALCTS Acquisitions Section Nominating Committee for the 2016/2017 term. Lori has previously served on ALCTS committees such as the Continuing Resources Section Education, Research and Publication Coordinating Committee and the Ester J. Piercy Award Jury. She serves on various committees at the local, state, and national level and previously served as chair of the NASIG Continuing Education Committee.
Anne Liebst
Anne is currently the Discovery and Access Coordinator at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. In this capacity she is responsible for the maintenance and administration of the ILS, discovery, and e-resource systems and platforms, as well as the dissemination of assets and metadata to partners.
