Lynn Wiley will discuss two demand driven e-book packages for Humanities university press books that use different measures for determining demand. This work compares triggered demand models for e-book purchasing with evidence based demand
purchasing. Lynn is Head of Acquisitions at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign University Libraries.
Wenli Gao and Cherie Turner will describe their research into monograph usage that compares the usage patterns of books acquired via approval plan with those acquired through firm orders and incorporates interlibrary loan data for analysis.
Wenli is the Communication, Sociology, and Anthropology Librarian at the University of Houston Libraries and Cherie Turner is the Chemical Sciences Librarian at the University of Houston Libraries.
Kristin Calvert will discuss a citation analysis of research published by Western Carolina University faculty and staff to determine whether a statistically-significant relationship exists between academic department and the type(s) of
research cited in its faculty’s scholarship. The result of this analysis is then used to apply adjustments across all subject areas in the library’s allocation formula. Kristin is Assistant Professor and Department Head of Content Organization & Management
at Hunter Library, Western Carolina University.
