Falvey Memorial Library seeks a strategic, collaborative, and user-centered individual who is excited about the future of academic libraries to lead its programs to develop and steward general, special, and archival collections in support of teaching, learning, and research at Villanova University, located near Philadelphia.

 

Reporting to the University Librarian & Director of Falvey Memorial Library, the Associate University Librarian for Collections (AUL) develops and implements a vision for the development, discovery, and delivery of information resources of all types and formats. The AUL collaborates with library staff, the Villanova community, consortia partners, donors, funding agencies, and other library/higher ed. organizations to identify opportunities for enhancing the academic experience by developing strong collections, improving their discovery, and ensuring their preservation. The AUL establishes policies and procedures for lifecycle management of collections.

 

The AUL leads a newly formed directorate bringing together collection development, acquisitions & licensing, metadata, special and digital collections, and university archives operations in support of library and university priorities. S/he manages the materials budget.  S/he supervises and develops staff in the directorate and fosters programs of collections knowledge development across the organization.
