Hello Kimberly,
We transfer the order record from the old bib record to the new bib record. This creates consistency and is also easier for the vendor since they don’t have to worry about
our purchase order number changing.
In case your library uses SirsiDynix for its ILS like we do the Duplicate Order wizard is a great tool for moving the order. All our subscriptions have the order type STANDING.
We add “-TC” for “title change” to the order ID on the old order using Modify Order. Then, using Duplicate Order, we recreate the order and link it to the new bib record.
This allows us to maintain a connection between the old record and the new one.

Subject: [SERIALST] Inquiry: Title Changes & Order Records
Good morning,
When it comes to title changes for serials, what is a best practice for the order record?
Do you transfer the order record from the dead title’s bib record to the new title’s bib record, or do you just create a new order record on the new title’s bib record?
Thank you for your time and help!
