This is why we retain microform for certain publications. The original print edition is replicated (theoretically) so you get everything including freelance photos and articles. Missing bits in Historical NYT is not uncommon.

 

We also keep all our image-intensive art journals because copyright issues may lead to blank spots in the online version.
