Project Coordinator - Unified Library Management System Campus Implementation

Temporary Library Faculty Position

Available immediately

This position will work closely with California State University (CSU) Chancellor’s Office and other CSU libraries to provide campus leadership in implementing a new Unified Library Management System (Ex Libris Alma and Primo).

The J. Paul Leonard Library is a busy teaching-oriented institution that collaborates actively with the other CSU campus libraries. All of the CSU libraries will be migrating from individual campus integrated library systems to a CSU system-wide unified library management system resulting in significant new opportunities and challenges for collaboration and integration of policies, procedures and practices. Responsibilities:

  •   Provide leadership and coordination for campus implementation of a new CSU system- wide Unified Library Management System (ULMS) in the Leonard Library.

  •   Coordinate and direct data maintenance and associated clean-up efforts in both current library systems and the new ULMS.

  •   Coordinate and collaborate with library faculty and staff to evaluate and document current library workflows and procedures.

  •   Collaborate with Chancellor's Office and other CSU campus libraries to create and implement best practices in the new unified environment.

  •   Oversee troubleshooting of Alma and Primo.

  •   Contribute to committees, working groups and task forces for the Library, University, and

    CSU and actively participate in Library planning.

    Required Qualifications:

  •   ALA-accredited Masters in Library and Information Science.

  •   At least two years of relevant professional post-MLS library experience. e.g., technical

    services or systems.

  •   Experience in using integrated library systems (ILS) and discovery tools.

  •   Experience working with Library ILS data fields; familiarity with library operations and

    practices

  •   Demonstrated project management experience.

  •   Excellent analytical, communication, proactive problem solving skills.

  •   Experience in providing training and documentation for audiences of varying levels of expertise;

  •   Ability to work independently and as a member or leader of a team.

  •   Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse campus constituency.

  •   Ability to adapt to rapid change and to exercise creativity and initiative.

    Rank and Salary: Appointment is expected to be equivalent to the rank of Senior Assistant Librarian with salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Time base up to full time.
