Dear colleagues –

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We’ve looked into this, and have determined that reports are being delivered with a “no report data available” message within them due to a delay in delivery of the requested report. Should you experience this issue, we ask that you wait 3 – 5 minutes and then re-run the report.  We apologize for any inconvenience this causes. We are currently working on fixing this issue, but you should still be able to access their usage reports via this method in the interim.

For scheduled reports that run on the 1st day of every month, we are currently including usage from that month. If you had year-to-date usage reports scheduled to run on January 1st, 2016, please be aware that those reports will show no usage. We are making a change to scheduled reports to capture usage through the end of the previous month. If you had a report scheduled for January 1st, JSTOR will re-run and send you a new report once this fix is in place.

As a reminder, JSTOR COUNTER 4 reports may be accessed via https://www.jstor.org/analytics/ with your JSTOR admin log-in.

Our apologies again for any difficulty with usage reports you’ve experienced. If you need any assistant with your JSTOR usage reports or have any questions, please feel free to contact us at support@jstor.org.

Thanks,

Sarah

Today I reported to JSTOR that we’re getting numbers for ‘Searches – federated’ in our PR1 reports, but everything else is zero. It’s unlikely that not a single result was clicked on last month. I’m glad to know it isn’t just our account.

There seems to be a problem with the whole site. Long running scripts, etc…

Is anyone else having a problem getting actual data from JSTOR when they download usage statistics? In September I had to request that JSTOR run the usage stats for me and deliver the files to me directly rather than me use their interface. Every report I downloaded for any year contained no data. Now I’m trying to download JR1 and/or JR5 Counter4 stats for Jan.-Dec. 2015 and I get a tsv file that has only one cell filled in in the spreadsheet and it says, “No report data available.”

I’ve reported this to JSTOR, but I’d like to know how big a problem this is.

Thanks.

Mark
