Overall, we are unhappy with the product. I am compiling an email to our account manager with more specific details since I don't want to just whine like I'm about to do here. I am not yet and may never be a full time e-resources librarian here -- I split my time between this and reference. That doesn't help the situation (and is not EBSCO's fault). I need a product that is relatively easy to use and maintain and I feel like in many ways, this newer product is a step backwards. Maybe I just need to get used to it.

We do not have a discovery system and it seems that the new product is designed to work with EDS -- not as an AtoZ/link resolver on its own. We've had problems linking into articles in ProQuest and Gale where ProQuest and Gale doesn't recognize a date format for example. I've been told this is a service issue, so apparently enough libraries reported it. We don't use OCLC enough to determine if there are any problems with Full Text Finder.

I don't like the functionality of the admin site -- I find it confusing. I've made changes to correct an error and the system seems to ignore my changes. Or it takes FOREVER to recognize a change.

We miss our ability to perform an overlap analysis terribly.

I think from a public side, the search is not good and I can adjust the settings for search results (find any terms vs. all terms, etc.) but I seem to do something wrong every single time and the changes don't seem to take. It's very discouraging when you think you know what you're doing and you feel like everything you do is wrong!

I do like the ability to download your holdings, limited to specific packages. I also appreciate that EBSCO support is relatively quick to answer or make corrections to your settings so that things work properly - but I don't want to do this on a daily basis.

Like Melissa says, it will probably be fine in the end, but if I can't get it to work well for our users, they just won't use our resources. And unfortunately, my technological knowledge only goes so far.

Whining and ranting this morning, many apologies!
