We are a smaller scale operation and are abandoning print, but we currently use Ebsco and are reasonable happy with the service.  It all depends on what customer rep you pull.  We had great reps with Faxon and Swets in the past (sadly both are now historical footnotes) and have had mixed results twice as an Ebsco customer several years apart.  A lack of consistency in account reps the first time (we had several over a seven year stretch) was an unfortunate experience for us.  We have had a couple of very good reps the past five years with Ebsco.

As you can tell, we moved from Faxon to Ebsco to Swets to Ebsco.  Fortunately, both moves to Ebsco were before Faxon and Swets imploded.  The process can be painful, but the vendors will provide a lot of assistance.

We have been happy with invoicing practices from Ebsco, but we have few remaining individual subscriptions remaining, and very few of those are print.

Subject: [SERIALST] print subscription service

Hello,

Would you share with me what print subscription service you are using for your institution and how you would rate their services on renewals and invoicing? Have you ever made a switch from one service to another? We have 10,000 subscriptions and 41 accounts in print, as a reference for size.

Thank you,

Robin
