We too have a ‘Current Journals’ area where we keep the current year’s issues. For each title there is a slanted shelf for displaying the most current issue and, below that, a flat shelf for holding the rest of the issues. We are a small library with the journal stacks nearby containing all but the current year.

We have a new periodicals area near the front of the library. We keep the most current 3 issues of a periodical here. The rest are kept in the stacks.
