Here is our weeding criteria for bound journals:
We keep very old journals for only a few titles that have historical significance like National Geographic and Time. These are still used by students for research.
We also keep old journals that have a special significance to our college. We aren’t a specialty library or a big research institution, so we don’t think it’s necessary to keep obsolete or little-used material as if we are some museum of periodicals. We
have finite room and we have to consider what students are actually using.

Subject: Re: [SERIALST] Renewals
I work in a small academic library and due to staff cuts I have been assigned serials duties so I too would be interested in seeing a checklist. I am also very interested in weeding and holding policies. We have some publications back
to the early 1900's. Are libraries still keeping these old periodicals? We have very little usage and our indexes for the most part to not go this far back.

Greetings All,
I am gearing up for my first Renewal Process with our subscription management vendor. Does anyone have a Serials Renewal Process Timeline/Schedule/Checklist, including all
the tasks that need to be performed, that they would be willing to share?
Many thanks in advance!
