Hi All,
Hoping someone can help me out with a dilemma I’ve just encountered while trying to set up a new prediction pattern for a print periodical.
“How” used to be a bi-monthly publication. Simple to predict. Now, however, they’ve gone to a quarterly publication schedule (seasonal) with one extra issue in January, for 5 total issues per year. The problem I’ve discovered is that
I can’t figure out how to set up the pattern in our Polaris ILS. The January issue (no. 1 of the volume run) shows the month, but the other issues in the year will now have the season as their designator (no. 2 is Spring, no. 3 is Summer, no. 4 is Autumn,
no. 5 is Winter). I’ve tried creating an annual pattern for the January issue and then a quarterly pattern for the remainder, but the reset at the end of the pattern threw things off (to where no. 1 in the next volume would be Spring, not January); obviously
the issue (no.) sequence doesn’t continue, and those aren’t other options. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get this to work?
