Andrea:

We recently had a large withdrawal project and I spent two days trying to find a recycling option for the microfilm/fiche and even that did not result in any solution.  Kodak recycles film, but they deal in tonage!  If you decide you want to go that route you might try your local hospital to see what they do with their old film (X-rays, etc.) and see if they have a recycling company that they use.  What you withdraw is likely too small for you to recycle yourselves, but adding it to what the hospital generates could help you both out.

all the best,
Teresa

Subject: [SERIALST] Microfilm/microfiche withdrawal

We are looking at withdrawing our microfilm/microfiche collections.  Our preference, of course, is to sell our withdrawn items, but I doubt there is a market for microfilm/microfiche.  Does anyone have any suggestions for selling or donating these items?  Or any other advice for such a project?

Thanks,

Andrea
