Our University’s Office of Risk Management has asked us to determine the replacement cost of our periodicals (and books).  I have checked the archives and found a few postings about this topic and I found an ARL Spec kit from 1991.  The Library of Congress has a bibliography on its preservation site that has been helpful.  I have also corresponded with the Director of American Appraisal Associates, Inc.

However, I was wondering if any of you or your library has done this and if so, how you calculated the value ?

Thanks so much,

Micheline
