ProQuest is Seeking a Senior Metadata Librarian (Cataloging, Library of Congress)

This position is located in Washington, D.C. at the Library of Congress. The Senior Metadata Librarian (Cataloging, Library of Congress) is a full time position, with working hours equally divided between duties to support ProQuest and duties to support the US ISSN Center. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a more traditional library setting while also supporting the next generation of library software.

What You Will be Doing:

The Senior Metadata Librarian is responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of updates and additions for all authority work and the highest level of priority and customer visibility. The incumbent performs gap analysis to identify what metadata is missing and works with outsource vendors, libraries, and publishers to get metadata to fill those gaps. The Senior Metadata Librarian is also responsible for the timely resolution of incidents associated with authority titles within the knowledge base. For the US ISSN Center the Senior Metadata Librarian performs assignment of ISSN, essential cataloging, data acquisition, data capture and quality control activities.
