Here's my twisted thinking:
Normally if a publisher no longer works with EBSCO Subscription Services, I say, "Forget you, I'm canceling." I want to punish them for their lack of cooperation and for making things difficult.
However, since Harvard Business Review is so disagreeable regarding library subscriptions (i.e. no site license, restrictions on content in Business Source, etc.), I say, "I'm going to continue my print subscription so my faculty can rely on fair use and copy the heck out of your magazine for their classes if they want to and not pay the darn license fees, so there."
For what it's worth :-)
I actually wonder if EBSCO is not also punishing them for some misdeed, by requiring us to go direct. When I first called HBR the woman I spoke to wasn't aware that they were no longer working with EBSCO for renewals.

Hi all,
I, too, have recently discovered that HBR is no longer working with ebsco. I have been pondering (restlessly!) for the last week and am asking the collective what are you going to do about 2015? HBR’s subscription page appears to be set up for individuals and not institutions. We currently do not handle order direct titles because of the extra time involved in doing so.
