POSITION SUMMARY:
Nevada State College invites applications for an Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian. This position reports to the Director of Library Services and will join the College during an exciting period of growth and development.
The Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian will work collaboratively to provide vision and direction for the life cycle of electronic resource access, discovery, and assessment. The ideal candidate will be inspired by the prospect of working in a
new and growing college that values active learning, the integration of technology, and the importance of community.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership, coordination and administration of the library’s electronic resources and discovery services.
- Provides relevant statistical data and metrics, including usage and cost analysis, to support collection analysis and development decisions.
- Manages license negotiations with vendors and publishers.
- Manages the acquisition, access and discovery of ebook collections.
- Creates scholarly products; actively participates in committees, professional engagement or service; and meets other NSC requirements for promotion and tenure.

RANK AND SALARY:
Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor level. Salary range is $50,000 – $55,000.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science.
- Knowledge of current issues and trends in electronic resource management.
- Ability to proactively develop projects that improve resource access, discovery and assessment.
- Flexibility, creativity, energy, and the ability to work collaboratively.

- Enthusiasm for an innovative and evolving work environment.
- Potential to meet NSC requirements for promotion and tenure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience carrying out electronic resource management and acquisitions responsibilities in an academic library setting.
- Experience with discovery systems and electronic resource management systems.
- Knowledge of web technologies and metadata standards related to effective electronic resource access and discovery.
- Experience with licensing and negotiating contracts with vendors.
- Experience managing statistical data and conducting assessment of electronic resources use and discovery.
- Experience managing the acquisition, access and discovery of ebook collections.
