Our subscription to Variety is handled by EBSCO. In March 2013 Variety “re-launched” its publication changing its numbering. After the re-launching I begin
to notice “missing issues” so check with by EBSCO rep.
She was told by the publisher that the “special issues” need to claimed. (No idea why)
As a result I have been claiming “special issues” through EBSCO regularly now for a year. I do get most of them but it is a hassle.

My guess is that the "missing" numbers are the numbers belonging to the special issues, almost all of which we seem not to have received at our library. For
the past year, we currently hold about 4 special issues, only one of which has a number (and publication information) inside it.

How do you all number Variety? The volume and issue numbers in the back skip issue numbers seemingly at random, and there's a 1-2-3-4 numbering on the side for each month.
