Opening for a full-time Acquisitions and Serials Librarian

 

 

Under the supervision of the Senior Technical Services Librarian, the Acquisitions and Serials Librarian is responsible for the acquisition, receipt, processing and management of all serials, firm orders, and continuations. Management of the Acquisitions and Serials departments and supervision of all departmental staff. Maintenance of the library KnowledgeBase product for all electronic resources. Maintaining the quality and consistency of the library bibliographic database. This position is responsible for collection development, and acts as liaison to academic departments in assigned subject areas, as well as provides general and specialized reference and instruction/information literacy services to the NDSU community and other constituencies.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

·        An ALA-accredited M.A., M.S., M.L.S., or M.L.I.S.

·        Experience, coursework, or demonstrated awareness of the technical procedures of acquiring, licensing, and maintaining materials in all formats

·        Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a changing, dynamic, and production-oriented environment

·        Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately

·        Strong oral and written communication skills

·        Customer service orientation

·        Good computer skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·        One (1) year relevant professional experience

·        Supervisory experience
