My sense is that if Newsweek is only going to be available via e-mail, then they do not intend to support institutional subscriptions -- at least not yet. I think that trying to set
up wider access via an e-mail address probably not only violates the terms of the subscription, but gives Newsweek revenue they don't deserve. If we keep paying them, they think it's okay to continue this restrictive model, while at the same time, we could
get in trouble.
(At the same time, I dread seeing what an institutional subscription will cost, if they figure that out!)

Subject: [SERIALST] Newsweek going digital - what is your library doing?
Good morning,
As you may have heard, Newsweek is going "digital only" starting Jan 2013. My understanding is that the only subscription option Newsweek will offer is sending the issue to an
email address, which isn't at all conducive to library-patron usage.
I'm wondering what libraries are going to do with the subscription - will you cancel it? Try to find some way to share the issue electronically, (and legally, of course) with
your patrons?
If you could please share with me what you plan to do (or share with the list, if others are curious), that would be wonderful.
Thanks so much!
