ELECTRONIC RESOURCES LIBRARIAN
Western Kentucky University seeks applications for the position of Assistant Professor/ Electronic Resources Librarian in the Department of Library Technical Services. This is a ten month, tenure-eligible faculty position beginning on July 1, 2013 reporting to the Head, Department of Library Technical Services with collaborative report to the Head, Library Public Services. Responsibilities include: facilitate the selection, acquisition, maintenance, access and licensing of electronic resources. Develops policies and procedures for managing electronic resources and oversees licensing and compliance, tracking status, access and other technology issues. Prepares statistical reports on usage. Chairs the library-wide committee for electronic resources. Assists with institutional repository and other digital initiatives. Shared responsibilities for reference and instructional services. Performs other related duties as assigned. Research, service, and publication required for promotion and tenure.
Requirements: ALA accredited MLS degree. Experience with managing issues and processes associated with electronic resources. Familiarity with emerging information technologies, and web technologies. Ability to lead digital initiatives in collaboration with librarians, faculty, and administration. Strong organizational skills and the ability to respond efficiently to changing needs and priorities. Able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a timely manner.
