I just received the August 2012 issue of “Out” magazine (issn: 1062-7928) and it was v.20 no.10 – same as the June/July 2012 issue!  According to the pattern, it should have been v.21 no.1.  I’m fairly new to Serials (and my predecessor left before I started so I had virtually no training), but my understanding is that even if the physical item is “wrong”, our OPAC should still indicate what is physically printed on the item in order for the students to be able to correctly find them.

Is this true?  How are other schools handling this issue?

I checked EBSCO (our subscription agent) and they had this listed as v.21 no.1, but I think they just show the pattern and not the actual physical item.  They also did not indicate an Indexing Service other than PAIS (which we don’t have) where I could check to see how it is being referenced.

Any insight would be appreciated,

Nancy
