The LITA/ALCTS Electronic Resources Management Interest Group will be hosting the following panelist session at the 2012 ALA MidWinter Meeting in Dallas; “Integrating ERMS into the ILS: Systems for Holistic Resource Management”.

Details: Panelists representing Innovative Interfaces, Ex Libris and Kuali OLE will discuss the latest developments and trends in ERM development while giving special attention to ERM and ILS integration and its impact on electronic resource workflows. Questions covered by the panelists may include the following. What place does ERM functionality have in the development of next-generation ILS systems? How will ERM and ILS integration impact acquisition and management workflows? What are the biggest challenges in integrating ERM functions into the ILS framework?
The session will also include updates from the following NISO working groups; SUSHI, IOTA, KBART, SERU and ERM Data Standards Review.
Speakers:
Ken Wells is a Product Manager for Innovative Interfaces, Inc., focusing on Sierra, Reporter and Decision Center, and was formerly a trainer at Innovative. His background in libraries focuses primarily in tech services and e-resource management at the University of Florida George A. Smathers Libraries, and he has worked several years in the library automation and services industry, working previously at the Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET) in Atlanta before coming to Innovative.
Maria Collins has worked as serials librarian and associate head of acquisitions at North Carolina State University Libraries since 2005, and became head of content acquisitions and licensing in 2011. She previously worked as serials librarian and serials coordinator at Mississippi State University Libraries for six years. She is editor of Serials Review and was the column editor for SR's Electronic Journal Forum. She also chairs the team developing NCSU's locally developed electronic resource management system, E-Matrix, and participates in the Kuali OLE and Global Open KnowledgeBase (GOKb) projects.
