Associate Director for Technical Services

Georgia College invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Director for Technical Services, an instructional and full-time faculty tenure-track position. The Associate Director for Technical Services is responsible for leading, coordinating, and administering the daily and long-term activities in the Technical Services department, encompassing acquisitions, serials, and cataloging. The Associate Director for Technical Services serves on the Library and Instructional Technology Center Management Council. A competitive candidate for this position will possess an ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS degree; two or more years of successful experience in the supervision and management of faculty and staff in an academic environment; demonstrated effective and collaborative leadership and communication skills; demonstrated knowledge and experience with integrated library systems; demonstrated experience with cataloging, serials, or acquisitions. Preferred qualifications include, but are not limited to, a subject master’s degree, experience with planning and implementing innovative technical services, and experience assessing library services.
