We are currently seeking content for volume 63 (2012) of The
Serials Librarian, the journal for continuing print and electronic
resources published by Taylor and Francis and affiliated with NASIG.
Although we are keen to see scholarly articles on any aspect
of continuing resources (acquisition, promotion, cataloguing, development), we
are also on the look-out for information on projects relating to serials
management from around the world, especially from Europe, Australasia, and
Asia. We have opportunities for authors to contribute material to our
popular columns which exist on a range of subjects, and would welcome case
studies on how your institutions and organisations are currently monitoring and
managing your collections.
Finally, we would welcome contributions from our colleagues
in publishing to give a different perspective to that of the subscriber or
end-user. We are not looking for articles or pieces which promote a
particular company, but would welcome approaches from this sector.
You may view the Instructions for Authors at http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authors/WSERauth.asp.
Please contact editors Louise and Andrew at editorserialslib@gmail.com in the
first instance with your ideas and proposed submissions intended for The
Serials Librarian.
Calling all bloggers!
The Serials Librarian editors are currently working on
the launch of a blog to go live in early 2012 which will feed into and
supplement content within the journal proper. We are open to any and all
ideas – for some possibilities please see the ‘Perceptions and
Reflections’ columns in the journal, or we would love to hear your own
current preoccupations and areas of interest.
Items written for the blog do not need to be in a formal or
‘Letters to the Editor’ style, as long as they are succinct,
interesting, and relevant. We would like to see material from regular
authors or new faces alike. Approaches from authors who would like to
write regularly for our blog are also welcome.
Please contact editors Louise and Andrew at editorserialslib@gmail.com with any
ideas or submissions for our blog. Please put ‘SL blog’ as
part of your subject line.
Thanks
Louise Cole
