Come to the LC Booth (#2856) in the Exhibits area at ALA on Saturday, June 25, to learn about the work of the U.S. ISSN Center and about ways that the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) facilitates identifcation, access, and data linking in the worldwide digital environment.  LC has hosted the U.S. ISSN Center (originally called the National Serials Data Program) since the inception of the ISSN system in 1972.

ISSN was ahead of its time in anticipating the crucial role of identifiers in the digital environment and has evolved well beyond its early role as a number displayed on print journals.  Demand for ISSN continues to increase because of ISSN's use in identifying and linking to current, long-dead, or yet to be published continuing resources today and in the future semantic web.  SuperNumber ISSN-Man will debate Title-Man in a brief video cartoon at the beginning of the presentation.

See you in New Orleans!
