ALCTS Webinar Openhouse (Playground), January 9, 2011
On Sunday, January 9, 2011, during ALA Midwinter in San
Diego, the ALCTS Continuing Education Committee is hosting a Webinar Playground
from noon until 2pm. The location will be the San Diego Convention
Center, Room 05 A.
If you are eager to find out what is involved in developing
and presenting a webinar, please stop by and chat with members of the CE
committee, check out the GoToWebinar software, and learn how effective webinars
are in providing targeted, timely continuing professional development content
at the desktop for librarians and library staff. The concepts are not software
specific although we will be using GoToWebinar for the demonstration.
Feel free to bring your lunch -- ALCTS will supply
beverages. A short presentation on webinar basics will be offered at
12:15, 12:45, and 1:15 and there will be plenty of time for hands-on
experimentation with the software. This is a great opportunity to find
out more about presenting, hosting, providing technical support for, and
attending webinars (all you ever wanted to know about webinars and were
afraid to ask!)
All ALA Midwinter attendees are cordially invited –
you do not need to be a member of ALCTS to participate.
Please contact Pamela Bluh (pbluh@umaryland.edu) or Helen Reed (Helen.Reed@unco.edu) with questions or
comments.
