Library Technicians, Greenbelt, MD

seeks experienced Library Technicians
for a contract position within a prestigious government agency. The Library
Technicians will provide technical support to librarians and other professional
library staff for a large journal weeding project. The work location will
be in Greenbelt, MD and reliable transportation is required. This position is
expected to start immediately and last approximately 6 months. This is an

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
· Serials de-selection; data entry including simple
cataloging edits in OCLC and local catalogs;
· Accurately track and organize materials being
deselected and their disposition;
· Pull and box serials and arrange manage supplies and
shipping of materials;
· Shelving (familiarity with classification); sorting;
photocopying; book processing; bar-coding.
Qualifications:
· 2 years college education or equivalent experience;
· 1 year relevant work experience;
· Sufficient knowledge of duties of Library Technicians;
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational
skills;
· Ability to problem-solve as appropriate;
· Experience working with a personal computer and
relevant library software, especially Sirsi Unicorn/Symphony (or similar
cataloging software) and OCLC;
· Good computer skills.
