Hi Ophelia,
After running
the Prediction as Late report, then run Serial Claim Notices. Under the “Serials
Claim Selection” tab the Number of Times claimed can be set. You can use
the gadget and the equal sign to set it, such as =0 for a first claim, =1 for a
second claim, and =2 for a third claim.

Hi Ophelia,
Did you ever get any responses
to your question?
I would think that this is a
setting in the Claiming report in SIRSI. There is a way to set the number
of times that a claim is process in that report or else it’s in the
predict as late report…I am not sure which now that I am thinking about
it. I hope this helps.

Subject: [SERIALST] EBSCO EDI Claiming and SirsiDynix
I have been
working for several weeks trying to get a handle on our claims. We have been
using EBSCO EDI for a number of years to submit claims; however, we have not
been working the Claims Checker as a way to keep track. As a result, we
have been sending out numerous claims for titles and I’m trying to figure
out a way to best handle this problem. Our Customer Service Rep is
telling me that we should claim only one time via EDI and work the claims
checker thereafter. However, I have not figured out a way to set this up
in our system to stop the automatic claims (we are using Sirsi). Has
anyone figured out how to set the number of times a claim is sent? For
example, we would like to cease claiming an issue after 3 times. What we
have been doing is setting the next date to claim at NEVER in the claims
folder.
Thanks!
