Caitlin,
Our proxy server is maintained and
administered by University Computing. I am responsible for getting the config
files to send to the proxy server administrator, who then adds them to the
proxy server. I get this information from either the vendor’s website
(usually on the “support” page or subpage of that page) or from the vendor’s
technical support (usually by email).
Usually there is not a new
config file necessary for each new title unless each of those titles is coming
from a different source. Sometimes all I have to do is send the access URL of
the journal and that is enough.

Subject: [SERIALST] OBTAINING EZ PROXY CONFIG FILES - info requested.
We are attempting to find out how other libraries handle EZ
proxy config files for off-campus access to E-Journals.
In your library, which staff person is responsible for
finding out what the given config file is for a new title?
Where does this staff person usually obtain these config
files?
Who adds them to your server?
Any information you could supply would be very helpful to
us.
Sincerely,
Caitlin
