Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, is accepting applications for a full-time position as Director of Technical Services in the Camden-Carroll Library at the rank of Librarian II or higher.  Responsibilities: Provide leadership and vision for Camden-Carroll Library’s Technical Services division (Acquisitions, Cataloging, Serials, Interlibrary Loan, and Systems); serve as a member of the Library’s senior administrative group, reporting to the Dean of Library Services, and working closely with the directors of User Services and Instructional Services; exercise line responsibility for 4 librarians and 10.5 support staff within the division; provide direct oversight for the Acquisitions Department, including the materials budget, collection development and the liaison program. Camden-Carroll Library’s Technical Services division takes pride in its service-oriented environment, with a strong emphasis on practicality, speed, and innovation.  Librarians serve as liaison to one or more academic departments; engage in professional activities and service; serve on library, university, and statewide committees. Qualifications: ALA accredited MLS.  At least five years of recent full-time professional experience in technical services; supervisory experience; demonstrated skills in management reporting; ability to administer budgeting and collection development activities; extensive knowledge of standards, best practices, and trends; strong interpersonal, written, oral, and organizational skills; excellent planning skills; ability to work collegially and effectively to build consensus and facilitate change; ability to set priorities supporting University and Library mission and goals; evidence of professional activity; strong customer service commitment.
