Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks a
Serials / Acquisitions Specialist (Library
Specialist III) on behalf of our client in Santa Monica, CA.
Our ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, personable and professional
with other staff. This is a full-time position that will last 6-months or
longer.
Responsibilities include:
- Process
orders, renewals, and invoices for print and electronic resources.
- Receive
and process periodicals, standing orders, and monographs.
- Create
and update records in the Sirsi Unicorn integrated library system.
- Initiate,
process, and trouble-shoot claims.
- Use
electronic resources management tools for data management and reporting.
- Sort
daily mail.
- Special
projects as requested.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- 2
years of college or equivalent, PLUS two years of experience in a special
or research library environment, preferably in serials or acquisitions.
Technical
Skills:
- Knowledge
of standard library practices and operations, preferably in serials or
acquisitions.
- Experience
with integrated library systems (Sirsi strongly preferred).
- Good
computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word required).
- Good
verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong
customer service skills.
- Excellent
attention to detail required.
