Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks a part-time Librarian (20 hours per week) to work under contract at a library in Alhambra, CA. We are seeking candidates with an MLS Degree as well as 3 years of experience. Must have knowledge of Inmagic. This position is subject to award.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

·        Catalog archival materials and new publications.

·        Library Maintenance - issue, receive, and shelve books, publications, and other media.

·        Keep abreast of current areas of research interest at the company.

·        Maintain InMagic records for publications ordered.

·        Maintain networking relationships with special libraries.

·        Monitor new reference sources and trends in on-line resources.

·        Plan and conduct library training sessions (InMagic,Lexis,Dialog, Internet, etc.).

·        Plain and maintain library budget.

·        Prepare articles for departmental newsletter.

·        Provide reference and circulation services helping company employees to locate information, publications, and documents.

 

Qualifications

 

·        MLS from an accredited ALA institution.

·        3 years of experience.

·        Proficient using Inmagic.
