Sue,

Outlook can be setup to send emails in different formats, html and plain
text being the most common (both of which you will be able to read) but
another option is rtf (rich text format). This is compressed and encoded
(winmail.dat is the result), very few email readers can handle this format.

Either ask them to resend in html or plain text or you could try an online
decoder www.winmaildat.com

Eddie

Help!
People send me mails with an attachment called winmail.dat I believe this is
an Outlook way of sending things, but as I have an AppleMac which uses
Entourage I can't open it.

Please can someone enlighten me as to what this is all about.

Sue
