I'm not sure who is responsible for this so I'm sending to
the general list - sorry to those who are not interested.

I believe that the RG2 that we are using is the one written
by Simon Errington using Javascript rather than Java (which
makes it easier/safer to run on arbitrary systems).

However, the original author (a Finn) has now rewritten his
version also using Javascript. One major new feature is to
position a GPX file track using split times. The GPX file
contains timestamps as well as position data. This means
that the track can be fixed automatically to each control
using the splits data.

I have used this system in the Czech Republic and it works
really well - at least it did for the one track I uploaded -
no more messing about trying to lock points as the track
distorts in unexpected directions.

The system is available at www.routegadget.net, maybe we
should consider changing to it?
