We have heard that Ray Parkinson, a very active early member of MDOC, died on 19 April at the age of 94.
He was a very popular teacher at St Bede's College in Manchester, and inspired a number of the boys there with an enthusiasm for orienteering.
"Bedian Beeliners' were in evidence at many events, and several members went on to become influential within the sport.

A Requiem Mass will be held in memory of Ray Parkinson at 10 am on 28 April at Our Lady of the Sea in Str Annes-on-Sea.
