Some decent performances across the board for MDOC at the British TrailO Champs in Scarborough at the w/e
Junior Elite:
1. River-Edis Smith MDOC
2. Dom Wathey MDOC
Senior Elite:
3. John Kewley MDOC
7. Dave Wathey MDOC
25. Cecilia Fenerty MDOC
Standard:
3= Elizabeth Harmer-Davies MDOC
Overall in the Elite class there were 3 MDOC in the top 8 and 4 in the top 14 (3rd, 6th, 8th, 14th)
Commiserations to Dom as he had the best Time Control score (by some margin) across the whole of the Elite field 2ith 19s (JK was =2nd fastest with 31) and had it not been for one control being voided he would have beaten River. Of course like FootO, TrailO is all about "what-ifs" and his day will come.
MDOC performance of the day was probably Dave Wathey who was only beaten on the Time Controls by JK and beat GB team regulars Nick Barrable and Ian Ditchfield
I don't believe there are any more TrailO events in UK in 2019, but most of the GB team will be heading to two European Cup weekends in POL (JK is the IOF Event Advisor at one) and the Nordic Championships (which has two Preo and one Night PreO, with the former both GB ranking events). One or two are even heading out to Hong Kong for the inaugural Asian Trail Orienteering Championships.
