Permanent Courses Sue Birkinshaw 13 Apr 2019 09:35 UTC

Hi All,
Do you know about GMOA? It looks after nearly 60 Permanent Courses all over Manchester and beyond. Most of the work is done by a very small group of MDOC and SELOC members (who also help massively with “mainstream” orienteering).
But we depend on other club members to keep an eye on the POC posts, checking that they are all in place, possibly cleaning them up and, essentially, reporting anything that needs dealing with so that people using the courses have a satisfactory experience.
You might be interested to know that 1500 maps were sold in the last year. We often wonder why the people who use these maps don’t also come to events!!

If you would like to know more about GMOA, you are invited to the AGM at Sue’s house (221 Hale Road, Hale, Altrincham, WA15 8DN) on Monday June 3rd at 8.00. Ideas on promotion and development will be VERY welcome.

And if you could consider offering to do the “post watching” at a park near you, I would be very pleased to hear from you and tell you more about what is involved.

URGENT . Postwatchers needed for Philips Park Manchester (Grid Ref SJ 870 989) and Debdale Park (Grid Ref SJ 894 959)
Both these parks are fairly small, about 750m by 300m, and are within the M60, to the east of the city centre.
